Technology Challenge

In May we are taking part in the BP Technology challenge. One of our challenges was to make a bungy platform using 15 iceblock sticks, 3 drinking straws, 1m of string, 1m of tape a small piece of blu tac and 2 marbles.

We had to build a stand alone structure that was not anchored to the desk. The structure had to balance a marble at one end (like someone standing at the end of a platform. The structure that reached out the furthest from the end of the desk was the winner.

The winning team with a distance of 40cm was Leyanne, Maddi, Olive-Coco and Dodge.

Mr. Brown managed 56cm but we think he might have cheated. 🙂

Why don’t you try it at home (or school) and see how far you can get?
